Power Measurement
on a 4WD Dyno

Accurate power and torque measurements. Result verification before and after chip tuning.

Professional 4WD Dynamometer
A 4WD load-controlled dynamometer allows us to reveal the vehicle’s real potential, not just “estimated figures”. We perform precise power and torque measurements and also use the dyno for proper engine calibration and result verification after tuning.

Our DYNOMAX4000 4x4 operates synchronously across all axles, providing stable load and reliable data for front-wheel, rear-wheel, and all-wheel drive vehicles. This is the only objective way to evaluate the effectiveness of chip tuning and engine modifications.

As a result, you get real, verified figures, smooth calibration under load, and confidence that the engine is operating safely and efficiently.

Power measurement on a 4WD dyno — accurate and honest results

A dynamometer (Dyno) is the only way to determine the real power and torque your vehicle actually produces. We perform measurements on a 4WD all-wheel-drive dyno with a load-controlled brake, which allows us to obtain highly accurate data even for high-power and AWD vehicles.

At AUTOCHIP.LV, the dyno is not used “just for show”, but as a core tool for control, calibration, and result verification — before and after chip tuning.

DYNOMAX4000 4x4 — professional-level measurements

We use the DYNOMAX4000 4WD Dyno — a synchronised dynamometer with an electromagnetic load brake that simulates real driving conditions: acceleration, resistance, inclines, and load under torque.

  • Power and torque measurement at the wheels
  • Calculation of drivetrain losses
  • Data correction according to ISO / SAE standards
  • Consideration of air temperature and atmospheric pressure
  • Data acquisition directly via OBD

Why dyno testing is important

Vehicles often do not match their claimed power figures, especially after “garage tuning” or uncontrolled software modifications. A dyno reveals the real picture instead of relying on driving impressions.

  • Honest figures without guesswork or marketing
  • Result verification before and after chip tuning
  • Detection of power losses and unstable operation
  • Safe calibration under real load conditions

How the power measurement is performed

  • Step 1: initial power and torque measurement
  • Step 2: ECU tuning or adjustment (optional)
  • Step 3: control run and stability verification

This approach provides a real, verified result, not just a “feeling that it got better”.
